I'm Derek Ang. I am based in Singapore.

Hi, I’m Derek — a Product Manager based in Singapore, with over 8 years of experience launching and scaling global products across mobile, web, and AI. I specialize in transforming insights into real-world impact by leading cross-functional teams, driving user engagement, and crafting scalable product strategies.

I spent the past seven years at Microsoft, where I led multiple high-impact initiatives across APAC and global markets. Whether it was integrating AI-powered news feeds into devices from Xiaomi and Huawei, redesigning MSN Mobile across 52 countries, or doing product localization & ehancements in over 11 markets, my work has consistently focused on delivering data-driven growth and intuitive user experiences.

Before Microsoft, I built and shipped digital products across industries — from leading UI development for Singapore’s 28th SEA Games ticketing platform at APACTix, to launching a new Yellow Pages business portal that doubled monthly usage in under a year.

When I am in university, I also co-founded Morces, a mobile web platform for small businesses that mobilized over 1,000 sites and was acquired in 2013. That early startup experience sparked my passion for building products that solve real problems at scale.

When I’m not shipping products or running A/B tests, I’m probably tinkering with a new idea, watching YouTube, or reading books.
